A unique cathedral

Day and night life in Varna goes through the city's most popular and unique cathedral "Assumption of the Virgin", located right at the heart of the city.

 Everything in Varna city starts and ends around this beautiful gorgeous building and it's park: smiling people with their new-converts children, brides and grooms with their pray for happy future, thousand of tourists and of course, inevitable presence of yellow-collored taxis 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.

It's architecture is unique not only for Varna, but for Bulgaria and Balkan peninsula. You could not only see the majesty of the cathedral, but feel the power, accumulated in the passed difficult historical times for the country since it was built in the 19th century. 

This is the main church of Metropolis of Varna, where all important liturgies are served throughout the year.

Try to spend time to enter into this majestic church. It will take not more than half an hour the most, but you will surely be able to absorb physically the peace and the inner sustainability of this place. Sometimes this is the only thing needed to understand othr culture or ... ourselves.

The  temple was modelled after the temple in the Peterhof Palace in Petersburg, Russia but the needed sum was collected by voluntary donations together with Bulgarian government.
